en Educational Studies پژوهشي Original <div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#669933;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;"><span style="line-height:2;"><span calibri=""><b><span new="" roman="" times="">Objective:</span></b><span new="" roman="" times=""> The purpose of the present study was to identifying social, environmental and educational barriers of academic-career decision making self-efficacy in Adolescents.<br> <b>Method:</b></span> <span lang="EN"><span new="" roman="" times="">The population of this qualitative study included male high school students of Khomeini Shahr</span></span><span new="" roman="" times="">. A total of 12 students were selected using purposeful sampling method; A semi-structured interviews were conducted to the extent that the responses were saturated. Data were analyzed using open, axial and central coding based on grounded theory method. <b>Results:</b> </span><span lang="EN"><span new="" roman="" times="">The findings showed that the social dimension includes addiction, unhealthy relationships and external determinism, the environmental dimension includes lack of government support, wrong government policies, difficult economic conditions, and lack of meritocracy and educational dimension including the theory-based education, costly education and lack of talent identification.<br> <b>Conclusion:</b> Regarding the results can concluded that informing </span></span><span new="" roman="" times="">adolescents</span><span lang="EN"><span new="" roman="" times=""> about the barriers of academic-career self-efficacy can lead to better decision-making.
