Abstract: (25 Views)
Objective: This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) in reducing cyber aggression among adolescents with high-risk behaviors.
Methods: The study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group. The statistical population consisted of all male and female secondary school students with high-risk behaviors in District 1 of Arak during the 2025 academic year. Thirty students were identified through screening and selected using purposive sampling, then randomly assigned to an experimental group (n = 15) and a control group (n = 15). Both groups completed the research questionnaires as a pretest before the intervention. The experimental group participated in eight 90-minute group sessions of Emotion-Focused Therapy conducted weekly over two months, while the control group received no intervention. After the intervention, both groups completed the posttest questionnaires. Data were collected using the Cyber Aggression Scale (Lam & Li, 2013) and the High-Risk Behaviors Questionnaire (Zadeh Mohammadi et al., 2011). Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA).
Results: The findings showed that Emotion-Focused Therapy significantly reduced cyber aggression among adolescents with high-risk behaviors compared to the control group.
Conclusions: Emotion-Focused Therapy appears to be an effective intervention for reducing cyber aggression in adolescents with high-risk behaviors and may be considered a useful therapeutic approach for improving
